Evaluation

Evaluation

In this evaluation I will be discussing my short film project and what we had to do, Firstly we was asked to make a short film based  on 'secrets' the film is not to have a dialogue and no more than 3 actors. Our main task was to make our film have a hidden secret inside it. The film could be any genre we wanted it to be .

My primary research was that I firstly researched other famous/well-known people who have 'secrets' and hidden messages in their art/film/ the artist that inspired me most and I researched was Bansky.

What I learned from Banksy is that in all of his artwork he has messages such as this one. In this picture it shows that our society is trapped in their own 'online world'. This helped me with my work because it gave me ideas on what my hidden message could be, or what it could include, Secondary research was Other artists and directors we researched was Domenico Ghilardio who was a fifteenth century artist and John Lasseter. who was the director of Toy Story.

After my research task I had to start to plan and do my pre-production and for this I looked at
audience profiling this is where we learned about a persons demographic profile which includes Basic information about the person like what age the person is, name, religion, sexuality and gender.
Secondly on audience profiling was the socio-economical status which we learned about and this is the social status of the person for example IE, working class, middle-class , upper-class This information was useful for when I made my questionnaire online which was the next task.I made a questionnaire on surveymonkey.com this is to find basic information from people for example their age, genre of film they like or if they like my film idea information like this helped me produce my film because I based it on what the audience preferred.

For my production I had to think of Ideas for my short film the first idea I had was based on a werewolf who was secretly a werewolf and one night with his/her friends they turn into one and kill their friends but my Idea changed because we wasn't aloud violence, My second Idea was a vampire bu that I couldn't improve that idea. My final Idea that I came up with and that I used was a person/male actor who is alone in a dark room on their laptop doing work and suddenly an unknown caller rings them and when the actor answer he hears supernatural noises on the phone then they hang up. So he carries on sitting down on his laptop and an unknown caller rings him again but he doesn't pickup so he looks over to his computer and it says ''Pick up the phone'' so they ring again and he finally picks up but no one speaks on the other line. so the actor shouts saying '' who are you speak to me?'' but still no answer. When he looks back over to his laptop it says ''I know who you are'' so the actor gets scared and tries to escape but when he opens the door he sees the unknown caller staring back at him.

After recording my idea I started to edit the short film on Adobe Premier I first uploaded all the scenes and then put them in order together, after that I cropped parts of the clips to make them shorter and not drag on. after this I continued to edit it and added SFX such as scary music and supernatural sounds, furthermore I added ringtone effects and typing sounds to fit each of the scenes.

What I would do differently is make the actor speak clearer and louder because on one scene you cant hear what he says when he is speaking to him self. Overall after all production and editing I think that my short film was fairly successful and I can not think of any other way I can improve.

                                       Hidden secrets

Mona Lisa

  • In the right eye appear to be the letters ''LV'' which could well stand for his name Leonardo Da -Vinci while in the left eye there are also symbols but they are not as defined.

  • To the naked eye the symbols are not visible but with a magnifying glass they can clearly be seen
  • The numbers and letters aren't visible to the human eye but have to be viewed under a microscope

Toy story based on the holocaust theory.

The abandoned toys represent the Jews of Europe, abandoned to the Nazis; they suggest taking sanctuary in the attic, echoing Anne Frank; Sunnyside stands in for a concentration camp, with Andy’s toys representing the “undesirables” sent there as they are no longer needed; the toys finally face the incinerator, representing the mass murder of the Jewish people

               Remember where you came from.

People who pass this piece in Los Angeles may wonder if they’re being warned, mocked, or simply entertained by a peculiar caveman with his fast food combo meal. This is simply a subtle reminder of our human nature and of those things that we’ve adopted that arent really that natural. for example Mcdonalds , Burgerkingetc.

                                            Love is not lust

This is painted outside of a New York City strip club seems to highlight the ugly truth about society’s sex obsession: it never leads to fulfillment at least not for this poor guy.

Banksy posted the phrase, “waiting in vain” along with a picture of the stencil on his website, this suggest that the guy in the picture is in the wrong place if he wants to find genuine love.

                                                        Live in the moment

One of Banksy most recent pieces, called Mobile Lovers was done in Bristol . This isn't a reference to modern technology this is to warn us to be conscious of what we’re spending our time and attention on. Nothing that exists on a screen in more important than what is happening right in front of us. By being constantly preoccupied, we could miss out on meaningful opportunities and connection with others. This shows to basically ''Live the moment''

A painting done in the fifteenth century by Ghirlandaio
Above Mary's left shoulder we observe a disk-shaped object that appears to be shining. It is an object which the artist depicted in huge detail , making sure it would stand out in his work of art. This is
definitely a UFO sighting in the painting.

In the fifteenth century if you were a living artist you had to follow certain unwritten rules if you wanted to depict something strange or different in a painting. In the foreground you had to paint a religious scene or depict religious figures otherwise you would be denounced as a devil worshiper and literally burned at the stake or beheaded that's why all UFOs in these ancient works of art are rendered small and in the background.
